About Tom
Wedding Photography
Hi, I’m Tom, and I'm NOT your typical "fly on the wall" photographer.
You know how wedding photographers are supposed to be invisible? Yeah, that's not quite me.
I mean, I won't be doing the cha cha slide at your reception. Unless asked. No promises. But I'm very much part of the day, cracking jokes during portraits so you're laughing instead of grimacing, helping the morning run smoothly, chatting with your nan between shots, and making sure your guests actually enjoy the group photos instead of quietly dreading them.
“The honest version? I am loud enough, when I need to be, to wrangle 150 guests for a group shot, warm enough that your gran will want a chat, and yes, absolutely obsessed with my cats.”
The photos look effortless because the experience is effortless. Not because I stood at the back and hoped for the best. If you've always hated being in front of a camera, brilliant. You're genuinely my favourite kind of couple to work with. I've had grooms tell me within seconds of meeting me that they despise cameras. Brides convinced they're unphotogenic. I've never once proved them right. What I do is get stuck in, read the room, keep things moving, and before anyone's really noticed, the portraits are done and you're back enjoying your day.
I'm experienced enough to know when to step back and let a moment breathe, and confident enough to round up 90 guests for a group shot without losing a single one to the bar. I've been doing this for over a decade, photographing nervous grooms who couldn't stop fidgeting, brides who cried happy tears before they'd even reached the aisle, best men who thought their speech bombed (it didn't), and flower girls who completely stole the show. Nothing phases me, nothing gets missed, and nothing gets taken too seriously.
What you won't get from me is a rigid shot list, a military schedule, or that slightly awkward energy where everyone can sense the photographer is stressed. What you will get is someone who shows up ready, reads the room within the first five minutes, and spends the rest of the day making sure you're having the time of your life, while quietly making sure every important moment is captured.
The portraits bit, the part most couples quietly dread, is honestly one of my favourites. Not because I love posing people (I don't, and it shows). But because it's usually the only twenty minutes you two get entirely to yourselves. My job in that window is simple: make you laugh, keep it moving, and get out of your way. You'd be amazed what happens when someone stops telling you to look natural. I'm based in Northamptonshire but I'll go wherever the wedding is. Barns, ballrooms, back gardens. I'll find the light wherever you are. And if any of that sounds like your kind of day, drop me a message. No hard sell, no weird pressure. Just two people figuring out if we're a good fit. Spoiler: we probably are.

And yes, the cats get a mention.
Away from weddings, there is one thing you should probably know about me. I am absolutely, unapologetically obsessed with my cats.
They regularly feature in my life, my conversations and, if I am being completely honest, probably my camera roll far more than they should. But I think that says a lot about the way I see the world. I notice character, little expressions, funny moments and the kind of tiny details that other people might miss.
That same instinct follows me into weddings. Whether it is your gran having the time of her life, your flower girl causing chaos, your best mate trying not to cry, or the family dog stealing attention, I am always watching for the little moments that make the story feel personal.

If you hate having your photo taken, you are in the right place.
Most of my couples tell me the same thing before their wedding day. They are not models, they feel awkward in front of the camera and they do not want to spend hours being posed.
- “We’re not great at posing.”
- “We just want the day to feel natural.”
- “We want photos that feel like us.”
- “We want to enjoy the day, not spend it being photographed.”
If that sounds familiar, then we are already speaking the same language. My job is not to make you feel like someone else. It is to help you feel comfortable enough to be yourselves.
What I believe
I believe wedding photography should feel relaxed, honest and deeply personal. The best photographs are rarely the ones where everything is perfectly posed. They are the ones that take you straight back to how the day felt.
Real moments matter
The hugs, the laughter, the nervous excitement, the chaos, the quiet glances and the people you love most. These are the moments that make your wedding story yours.
Calm beats chaos
A wedding day moves quickly, but your photography should never feel stressful. I bring experience, calm direction and a steady presence so you can relax and enjoy it.
Natural does not mean unplanned
The relaxed feel comes from knowing where to be, what to look for and when to gently step in. I capture the day naturally, while still making sure the important photographs are not missed.
Timeless always wins
My editing style is clean, warm and true to life, with natural skin tones and a classic finish that will not feel dated in years to come.
What it feels like to work with me
I am there to make your day easier, not more complicated. I will help with timings, keep things calm, organise people when needed and quietly disappear into the background when the moment calls for it.
Couples often tell me that by the end of the day, it felt less like having a photographer there and more like having another friendly, familiar face who happened to know exactly when to pick up the camera.
That balance matters. You get the reassurance of experience, the confidence of clear direction when you need it and the freedom to enjoy your wedding without feeling like the day is being controlled by photography.
My photography style
My style is natural, timeless and emotionally led. I focus on genuine moments, beautiful light, honest storytelling and images that feel elegant without becoming overly staged.
Your final gallery will be edited with rich, true-to-life colours, soft warmth, flattering skin tones and a consistent finish from start to end. I avoid heavy filters or trends that may date your photographs, because your wedding images should still feel beautiful in ten, twenty and fifty years.
Authentic Documentary storytelling
Real moments captured naturally as they happen throughout the day.
Editorial touches
Beautiful portraits and details with a refined, polished feel when the moment calls for it.
Relaxed direction
Gentle guidance that helps you feel comfortable without anything feeling forced.
Timeless editing
Natural colours, subtle warmth and a classic finish designed to last.
About working with me
What if we feel awkward in front of the camera?
That is completely normal, and most of my couples say the same thing before their wedding. My approach is relaxed and natural, with simple direction that helps you feel comfortable without anything feeling stiff or forced.
Do you still take family group photographs?
Yes, absolutely. I photograph the important family combinations, but I keep this part of the day organised and efficient so you are not standing around for ages or missing time with your guests.
Is your style documentary or posed?
It is mainly documentary, with gentle direction when needed. Most of the day is captured naturally as it unfolds, but I will step in for family photographs, couple portraits and moments where a little guidance helps create a stronger image.
Do you travel for weddings?
Yes. I am based in Northamptonshire, but I travel for awesome weddings across the UK and beyond.
How would you describe your editing style?
My editing is natural, timeless and true to life, with a subtle warmth, soft skin tones and a consistent finish across the whole gallery.
A few kind words from my couples
The biggest compliment I can receive is when couples tell me they felt completely relaxed and that their photographs feel like them.
“We were both so nervous and you put us at ease almost immediately. We really did feel like we were just wandering around having a giggle for our portraits. Totally no pressure and totally us.”
A lovely couple
“Nothing was a hassle and Tom fitted right in with us all as if we had known him ages. As for the photos, they are first class.”
A happy wedding couple
Think I sound like your kind of photographer?
