Why Crockwell Farm Is Perfect For Weddings
Crockwell Farm is a family-run, exclusive-use wedding venue set among rolling Northamptonshire countryside near Eydon and Daventry. It’s one of those venues that immediately puts couples and guests at ease. With converted stone barns, mature gardens, views across open farmland and on-site accommodation, it offers everything you need for a relaxed countryside celebration in one place.
The ethos at Crockwell is warm, personal and genuinely supportive. Because it’s run by the family who live on the farm, you always feel looked after. They’ve been hosting weddings since the early 2000s and have perfected the art of making a day flow without it ever feeling rushed. Whether you’re planning an intimate midweek wedding or a weekend-long celebration with family and friends staying over, the team work with you to build a day that reflects you.
The venue layout is brilliant for photography. The curved oak-glazed entrance, the vaulted barn, the gardens and the surrounding fields all offer different looks throughout the day. There are great all-weather options too, with the possibility of an outdoor ceremony in the Orchard Pavilion or an indoor ceremony in the rustic stone barn. In summer the sunsets here can be incredible across the fields, giving you that perfect golden-hour portrait opportunity without having to leave your guests for too long.
If you’re looking for a countryside venue that’s characterful, flexible and run with heart, Crockwell Farm is an amazing choice.

The History of Crockwell Farm
Crockwell Farm began life as a working Northamptonshire farm set among open countryside, with traditional stone buildings and agricultural land surrounding the main house. As the family diversified, they saw an opportunity to share the beauty of the farm with couples looking for authentic rural weddings. The result was one of the region’s first purpose-designed barn wedding venues, created with couples in mind rather than converted as an afterthought.
Over time, the owners added and improved the spaces in a way that feels organic and sympathetic to the original farm buildings. The vaulted ceremony barn, handsome stone walls, oak beams and neutral colour palette all contribute to that timeless countryside feel. Newer areas, such as the fully glazed entrance hall, offer more light and flexibility for winter or mixed-weather weddings, without losing the charm of the original farmstead.
Because the venue has been built up slowly over many years, it feels established and well considered. There are sheltered spots for photos, lawns for drinks, a courtyard for evening mingling and fields for portraits. It’s a venue designed to work for real weddings, not just for brochure pictures.
