Venue Spotlight
Looking for a wedding photographer at Plum Park Manor? I'm Tom Stenlake, a natural documentary wedding photographer and CAA-licensed drone pilot based in Northamptonshire. Every photo on this page, including the aerial shots, was taken by me at Plum Park near Towcester.
Why Plum Park Manor Is Perfect For Weddings
Plum Park Manor is an exclusive-use Victorian manor house wedding venue on the edge of Towcester, right on the Northamptonshire and Buckinghamshire border. It pairs proper country house elegance with a warm, relaxed atmosphere, so it feels like you've taken over a beautiful private home for the day rather than booked a function room.
The setting is full of character. The gabled manor house sits in landscaped gardens with lawns, mature trees, lavender borders and a charming Victorian-style glasshouse. There's a light-filled Orangery for your ceremony, the Plum Barn for the party, and tucked-away details like stone lions, a rope swing and a vintage tractor that make the grounds a joy to explore.
Plum Park Manor is wonderfully flexible too. The Orangery is licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 120 guests, the wedding breakfast can seat up to 192, and evening celebrations welcome up to 200. With eight individually styled bedrooms, including a honeymoon suite, you and your closest family can stay on site, and the in-house team look after the food and drinks so you can simply enjoy the day.
My approach fits Plum Park perfectly. I specialise in couples who don't particularly enjoy having their photograph taken, so there's no endless posing or turning your wedding into a photoshoot. I become part of the celebration, capture the genuine moments around me and give you a little guidance when it helps.

The History of Plum Park Manor
Plum Park sits beside Watling Street, the great Roman road that runs from London towards the north west and today carries the A5. Just up the road, Towcester began life as the Roman garrison town of Lactodurum, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited settlements in the country.
In later centuries this stretch of road became a busy coaching route between London and Holyhead, and Towcester flourished as a stopping point until the railway bypassed it in 1838. The surrounding countryside, once part of the royal hunting forest of Whittlewood, remained largely farmland and parkland, dotted with country houses.
The manor house at Plum Park is a Victorian country house, and the name "Plumpark" appears in local records from the early twentieth century, when its owner lent a field to villagers in nearby Paulerspury for their Whitsun holiday celebrations. Today the house has been lovingly turned into an exclusive-use wedding venue, keeping its period character while adding the Orangery and the Plum Barn for modern celebrations.
For weddings, that mix works beautifully. You have the gables, chimneys and gravel drive of a Victorian manor alongside bright, contemporary spaces, all wrapped in gardens and countryside.

Where are the best places for wedding photographs at Plum Park Manor?
The Victorian glasshouse among the lavender, the front of the manor house, the stone lions, the tree-lined avenue and the meadow grasses beyond the gardens. I choose locations based on the light and weather on the day.
What happens if it rains at our Plum Park Manor wedding?
The Orangery and the glass veranda give us beautiful sheltered spots, and a clear umbrella on the drive makes for lovely rainy-day portraits. I plan around the weather and pop outside whenever there's a break.
Can you fly a drone at Plum Park Manor?
When weather, venue permission and airspace regulations allow. I'm a CAA-licensed, insured drone pilot and always coordinate with the venue before any flight. Plum Park is fairly close to Silverstone, so I always check airspace restrictions in advance.
How do you approach group photographs?
Clear, quick, fun and friendly. We agree a sensible list before the wedding so I can organise everyone efficiently and get you back to enjoying the celebration.
Do you offer pre-wedding shoots?
Yes, as an optional add-on. Pre-wedding shoots aren't included in my packages as standard, but they're a relaxed way to get comfortable in front of the camera and see how I work before the big day.
