Step into the winter magic of Cally and Jim’s wedding at the always enchanting South Farm, where rustic charm met festive sparkle in the most joyful celebration of love.
Tucked away on the Cambridgeshire-Hertfordshire border, South Farm is one of the region’s most distinctive wedding venues, offering an elegant blend of historic beauty and countryside warmth. A working organic smallholding complete with its own farmhouse, meadows, and even rare-breed animals, it’s a place where sustainability and soul go hand-in-hand. As a regular photographer at South Farm, I’ve been fortunate to witness just how beautifully it lends itself to heartfelt celebrations, and Cally and Jim’s day was no exception.
They’d fallen for the venue’s unique layout, from the timber-framed Tudor barn to the vibrant Disco Room with its striking décor — and when you add in a December wedding, Christmas trees and fairy lights were a must. With a theme they described as rustic and magical, the setting couldn’t have been more perfect for the atmosphere they dreamed of.
From the moment these two met — at a children’s party, of all places, something just clicked. There’s a beautiful balance between them: Cally brings the fire, Jim brings the calm. They’re teammates, best friends, and now, husband and wife. Their proposal story says it all, a surprise filled with thought, excitement and love, ending in a rooftop bar surrounded by friends and happy tears.
On the day itself, the energy was incredible. Music played a big part, as it should when both bride and groom are superstar DJs! and the dancefloor pulsed with the kind of joy that only comes when two soulmates are surrounded by their people.
South Farm’s ethos of sustainability and individuality mirrors everything I aim to capture as a photographer. Real moments, real emotions, naturally, without intrusion. From confetti showers outside the farmhouse to golden-hour strolls past the farmhouse, it’s a venue that truly lets love take centre stage.
