Surrounded by 500 acres of meadows and fields, Merriscourt offers a refined yet relaxed setting that invites couples to celebrate with intention, intimacy, and style.
This ethos aligned perfectly with Hannah and Tom’s vision for their wedding day. From the moment they stepped onto the estate, they knew they had found the one. Merriscourt was the first venue they visited – and it set the bar so high that nothing else came close. They chose a winter celebration – fitting for two winter babies – and styled their day with Forest Green, Gold and White, reflecting the colours of the Forest of Dean, where they live. It was a sophisticated palette that brought elegance to every detail while keeping the atmosphere intimate and relaxed.
The ceremony and reception unfolded across Merriscourt’s signature spaces – from the serene Gallery Barn to the light-filled Stone Barn, each moment set against a backdrop of historic stonework and panoramic views. From the heartfelt vows to their first dance – slow dancing to The Only Exception by Paramore, the song that’s followed them since the earliest days of their relationship – every frame told a story rooted in connection, friendship, and the kind of quiet romance that needs no embellishment.
Their love story began with a swipe, but it had deeper roots – they had known of each other since secondary school. Years later, a Christmas tree shopping trip turned into a surprise proposal at home, complete with fairy lights, a box of Quality Street, and a very sparkly ring. It was playful, genuine, and full of heart – everything their wedding day would come to reflect.
