Nestled in the heart of the Northamptonshire countryside, Dodford Manor is a breathtaking exclusive-use barn wedding venue renowned for its blend of rustic charm and contemporary elegance. With panoramic views of rolling green hills and striking exposed oak beams, it provided the perfect setting for Nicky and Michael’s romantic countryside celebration.
Their love story began in the most modern of ways – on Tinder. After just half a day of chatting, they met for coffee and ended up spending twelve unforgettable hours together. That very first meeting marked the beginning of something undeniably special. So, it was only fitting that Michael chose that same coffee shop for his heartfelt proposal. With the shop privately opened just for them, he led Nicky back to the booth where it all began – this time adorned with glowing lights and photographs from their journey together. A “Marry Me” sign sealed the moment in pure magic.
For their wedding day, the couple embraced a rustic barn theme, inspired by their love for the countryside and nature. Bridesmaids wore sage green while the groomsmen were styled in soft light blue—subtle, timeless tones that complemented the warm, natural textures of Dodford Manor’s iconic stone walls and wooden beams.
Their first dance to “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” filled the barn with joyful nostalgia. It was a perfect choice—classic, romantic, and a reflection of their timeless connection.
As a luxury documentary wedding photographer, I was honoured to tell their story authentically and unobtrusively. They were drawn to my natural, relaxed approach – originally recommended by Nicky’s brother and sister-in-law, who’s wedding I also photographed – and wanted images that reflected the true essence of their day without staged or overly structured moments. From golden-hour portraits in the fields to spontaneous laughter during the speeches, every moment was captured with care, honesty, and emotion.
