Sarah and Joshua’s wedding at Tythe was the perfect mix of relaxed elegance, rustic charm and pure fun from beginning to end.
Set within the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside near Bicester, Tythe provided the ideal backdrop for a wedding day filled with genuine emotion, stylish details and unforgettable moments shared with their closest family and friends.
Their story began eight years ago with a Tinder match that quickly turned into something much bigger. They both downloaded the app on a Friday, matched with each other almost instantly, and deleted it by the Saturday because, in their words, “job done.” From that point onwards, their relationship became centred around adventure, laughter and shared traditions. Whether it is travelling to new cities, searching for the best burgers they can find, supporting Arsenal together or competing on crazy golf courses across the country, their relationship has always been built around having fun together and never taking life too seriously.
That same relaxed and joyful energy flowed naturally throughout their entire wedding day.
The couple chose Tythe because it instantly felt warm, welcoming and personal. As a family-run wedding venue, Tythe has an atmosphere that feels genuine from the moment you arrive. It is one of Oxfordshire’s most sought-after barn wedding venues, known for its stunning rustic barns, elegant spaces, beautiful gardens and iconic Wisteria arch that creates one of the most breathtaking outdoor ceremony settings in the region.
For Sarah and Joshua, it was the Wisteria arch that completely stole their hearts. The thought of walking down the aisle surrounded by blooms in such a beautiful setting perfectly reflected the atmosphere they wanted for their wedding. Natural, intimate, meaningful and full of love.
Their styling blended rustic textures with soft elegance and wild flower arrangements, creating a wedding that felt refined without losing the relaxed atmosphere they wanted their guests to experience. Tythe itself already carries so much character that very little was needed to make the venue feel magical. Every detail simply enhanced what was already there.
As a recommended supplier at Tythe, it is always a privilege to photograph weddings at this incredible venue. The ethos behind Tythe aligns perfectly with the way I approach wedding photography. Relaxed, authentic and centred around real moments rather than anything overly staged. The venue offers endless opportunities for natural documentary wedding photography while still providing stunning backdrops for timeless couple portraits.
Throughout the day, there were so many unforgettable moments. Emotional reactions during the ceremony, laughter-filled speeches, beautiful golden evening light across the grounds and one very fun champagne spray session that perfectly captured their personalities. Every part of the day felt effortless, joyful and completely true to who they are as a couple.
Their first dance to “Dressed Up in White” by Cal was the perfect ending to an incredible celebration. While they joked beforehand about having “two left feet,” what mattered most was simply enjoying the moment together surrounded by everyone they love.
Sarah and Joshua’s wedding was a beautiful reminder that the best weddings are not about perfection. They are about connection, personality, atmosphere and creating memories that genuinely mean something. It was an honour to capture their story at one of Oxfordshire’s most stunning barn wedding venues.
