Wedding Photographer Northamptonshire
Not your typical fly on the wall photographer — 700+ weddings, five-star reviews..
Real Weddings Honestly told.
No awkward posing.
I'm Tom — a fun authentic documentary wedding photographer based in Wellingborough, Northamptonshire. With 700+ weddings photographed across the county and beyond, I capture your day as it actually feels, not how it's supposed to look.
More experience.
More genuine moments.
I've been photographing weddings in Northamptonshire for years — not as a side project, but as my full-time life's work. That means I know how light falls in Dodford Manor in December, how the evening sun hits the lake at Grendon Lakes, and exactly how long it takes to drive from Northampton to Crockwell Farm on a Saturday.
I am not your typical "fly on the wall" photographer. For couples who want someone brilliant behind the lens and brilliant to have around. You know how wedding photographers are supposed to be invisible? Yeah, that's not quite me. although don't worry, I won't be doing the cha cha slide at your reception. But I'm very much part of the day, cracking jokes during portraits so you're laughing instead of grimacing, helping the morning run smoothly, chatting with your nan between shots, and making sure your guests actually enjoy the group photos instead of quietly dreading them.
Documentary, not directed
I will not take over your day and If you've always hated being in front of a camera, brilliant. You're genuinely my favourite kind of couple to work with. I've had grooms tell me within seconds of meeting me that they despise cameras. Brides convinced they're unphotogenic. I've never once proved them right. What I do is get stuck in, read the room, keep things moving, and before anyone's really noticed, the portraits are done and you're back enjoying your day.
Deep local knowledge
I know Northamptonshire's best venues intimately. I know the hidden portrait spots, where the light is best at 4pm, and which barn gets beautiful golden hour through the west-facing doors.
A recommended supplier — not just a visitor
I'm an approved recommended supplier at Dodford Manor, Barns at Hunsbury, Grendon Lakes, Brampton Grange, Chicheley Hall, and Furtho Manor Farm. That relationship matters on your wedding day.
How I work
I'm experienced enough to know when to step back and let a moment breathe, and confident enough to round up 90 guests for a group shot without losing a single one to the bar. I've been doing this for over a decade, photographing nervous grooms who couldn't stop fidgeting, brides who cried happy tears before they'd even reached the aisle, best men who thought their speech bombed (it didn't), and flower girls who completely stole the show. Nothing phases me, nothing gets missed, and nothing gets taken too seriously.
What you won't get from me is a rigid shot list, a military schedule, or that slightly awkward energy where everyone can sense the photographer is stressed. What you will get is someone who shows up ready, reads the room within the first five minutes, and spends the rest of the day making sure you're having the time of your life, while quietly making sure every important moment is captured.
The portraits bit, the part most couples quietly dread, is honestly one of my favourites. Not because I love posing people (I don't, and it shows). But because it's usually the only twenty minutes you two get entirely to yourselves. My job in that window is simple: make you laugh, keep it moving, and get out of your way. You'd be amazed what happens when someone stops telling you to look natural.
I'm based in Northamptonshire but I'll go wherever the wedding is. Barns, ballrooms, back gardens. I'll find the light wherever you are.
If any of that sounds like your kind of day, drop me a message. No hard sell, no weird pressure. Just two people figuring out if we're a good fit. Spoiler: we probably are.

How your wedding day actually works with me
Morning preparations
I arrive quietly and settle in. No disruption, no barking instructions. I capture the nerves, the laughter, the "oh god, this is actually happening" moments — while you get ready.
Ceremony
I position myself to see faces, not backs. Reactions matter as much as the main event. The way your mum looks at you during the vows. The moment your partner laughs at the wrong time.
Group & couple portraits
Groups are done efficiently so nobody disappears to the bar. Couple portraits take around 15 minutes — relaxed and gently guided. You'll barely notice it happening.
Evening & reception
I stay alert through speeches, first dance, and into the evening. The dancefloor moments, tearful toasts, and quiet corners — all captured without interrupting the flow of your day.
Real words from real weddings
Tom photographed our wedding at Dodford Manor and we can't thank him enough. Max is strongly against getting his photo taken — Tom made him feel comfortable straight away. By the end of the night, Tom felt like a guest at our wedding.
Jessica & Max
Dodford Manor, Northamptonshire
Neither of us find it easy posing for pictures but we were made to feel at ease. He blended in naturally, capturing special moments — candid and posed, but all stunning. They show what the day looked like but they also captured how the day felt.
Kelly & Tony
Grendon Lakes, Northamptonshire
We feel so lucky to have had Tom as our wedding photographer. From the second he arrived he put us completely at ease, and blended in naturally while still managing to capture every single important moment.

I cover the whole county — and beyond
Based in Wellingborough, I'm ideally placed to cover weddings anywhere across Northamptonshire — from Brackley in the south to Corby in the north, Daventry in the west to Oundle in the east. I also regularly travel into Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire, and beyond — with no travel fees anywhere in the county.
Frequently asked questions
Popular Northamptonshire venues like Dodford Manor, Crockwell Farm and Grendon Lakes often book 12–18 months in advance — and I fill up at a similar pace. If your date is a summer or early autumn weekend, I'd recommend getting in touch as soon as possible. That said, it's always worth checking — I sometimes have late availability for midweek and off-season dates.
No — there are no travel fees for weddings anywhere in Northamptonshire. I'm based in Wellingborough, so anywhere in the county is straightforward. For weddings further afield into Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Oxfordshire or beyond, I'll always be upfront about any costs during our initial conversation.
Documentary and natural — which means I spend most of the day quietly observing and capturing real moments as they happen. I don't pose couples for extended periods or interrupt the flow of your day. I do still handle group family photos efficiently and give couples a short, relaxed portrait session — but the bulk of my work is capturing what's genuinely happening, not what I've staged.
You'll typically receive a gallery of 400–600+ fully edited images, delivered within 4–6 weeks of your wedding day. Every image is individually edited — no bulk processing. You'll receive them in a beautiful online gallery with full download rights, so you can share and print freely.
I work solo at most weddings, which is something many couples specifically request — one calm, unobtrusive presence rather than two photographers pulling attention. If you'd like a second shooter for your Northamptonshire wedding, we can discuss that during our call and I can arrange someone I trust and have worked with before.
Your Northamptonshire wedding,
captured honestly.
Check whether your date is available — no pressure, no sales pitch. Just a friendly conversation about your plans.
